Across 95,725 creator videos we analyzed, posts published in the early US-Eastern morning — especially Sunday and Wednesday around 4-5am ET — and late Saturday night earned the highest median views, often 2-3.5× the typical post. The full hour-by-hour heatmap is below, with sample sizes shown honestly.

Method: upload times are derived from each video's post ID, converted to US Eastern, and bucketed by weekday and hour; each bucket shows the median view count indexed to the platform-wide median. Buckets with under 50 posts are greyed out. Views accumulate over a post's lifetime, so read this as where performance concentrates across a large sample — not a per-post guarantee.

How did we find the best posting times?

Most 'best time to post' articles recycle each other. We went to the data: tens of thousands of real creator videos, exact upload times, and median view counts per hour bucket.

  1. Exact upload times from the videos themselves

    Every TikTok video ID encodes its upload timestamp. We decoded 95,725 of them and converted to US Eastern time.

  2. Median views per weekday-hour bucket

    Each of the 168 weekly hour-slots gets the median view count of videos posted in it, indexed to the platform-wide median (100 = typical).

  3. Honest sample sizes

    Buckets with fewer than 50 videos are greyed out instead of pretending to be signal. We refresh the analysis quarterly.
