Free TikTok Transcript Generator
Convert TikTok to text: paste a public video link to get a transcript you can copy, read with timestamps, or download as TXT and SRT. We use available captions first and transcribe the audio when captions are missing. Get 2 free transcript requests per day, shared with Instagram. No sign-up required.
How do you get the transcript of a TikTok video?
Copy a public video's link from TikTok, paste it into the form, and select Get transcript. Short vm.tiktok.com and vt.tiktok.com share links work too. Check the text against the original before using it in a brief or subtitles.
Copy the TikTok link
Tap Share → Copy link on any public TikTok video, or copy the URL from your browser.
Paste and transcribe
Paste the link above and select Get transcript. The tool looks for captions first, then uses speech-to-text if needed. Processing time depends on the video and service availability.
Copy or download
Switch between timestamped and plain views, copy with one click, or download the transcript as .txt or .srt.
The words are only half the video. Octohog Video Blueprints breaks down the full structure — hook timing, cuts, product moments, and on-screen text, shot by shot. Explore Video Blueprints
A TikTok transcript you can actually use
Read the spoken hook, find a specific line, or take the script into your editor. The same result is available in three formats; switching views and downloading files does not use another request.
| Format | What you get | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Plain text / TXT | The spoken words without timestamp labels. | Copy into notes, a creative brief, or a script draft. |
| Timestamped text | Text grouped by the available caption or speech segments. | Find a line in the original video and review the opening hook. |
| SRT subtitles | A subtitle file using the available segment timings. | Import into a video editor, then review the words and timing before publishing. |

TikTok captions and speech-to-text: what is the difference?
A caption track already contains timed text. When TikTok makes that track available, this tool extracts it. If no usable caption track is available, it listens to the video's audio and generates a transcript with speech-to-text.
The result tells you which source was used. Neither method reads text burned into the picture: a price card, product label, or silent on-screen caption may not appear in the transcript. Video Blueprints adds visual analysis when you need that context.
Which TikTok videos can be transcribed?
Use a public TikTok video link such as tiktok.com/@creator/video/123456789, or a vm.tiktok.com or vt.tiktok.com share link. Speech-to-text supports videos up to 5 minutes. Private, deleted, restricted, and unavailable videos cannot be accessed; photo slideshows are not supported here.
Speech is transcribed in its original language, rather than translated. Clear speech works best. Background music, overlapping voices, accents, and brand names can affect accuracy. Review any quotation and subtitle timing against the video; music-only clips may have no transcript.
Asked, answered, on the record.
Yes. Everyone gets up to 2 free transcript requests per day, with or without an account. TikTok and Instagram share this limit, including previously transcribed videos. Your allowance resets at midnight UTC. Copying or downloading your result does not use another request.
