Collabstr review 2026: cheap to start, yours to vet
Nine hundred thousand creator listings, a $0 entry price, and a fee on every single order: Collabstr is the vending machine of UGC. We read the payout docs, the pricing fine print, and both ends of Trustpilot to find where the convenience stops being cheap. Verdict: 3.6 out of 5.
By Ashley Cruz, research lead at Octohog. Updated July 9, 2026. Facts and prices checked on each vendor's live pages and public review sites.
TL;DR
- Collabstr is a legit gig marketplace: free to browse, escrow-protected, with a 10% brand fee per order plus 15% on creator payouts
- Great for one-off gigs under $300; weak for repeat campaigns, with metered audience reports and vetting left to you. Our score: 3.6/5
- Recent Trustpilot reviews report payout delays; prices verified on the live pages July 9, 2026
- Best alternative: Octohog, the AI CMO workspace that ranks creators by verified brand work and runs the outreach, from $249/mo flat
Third-party averages: Capterra ~4.6 (about 135 reviews); Trustpilot mixed with recurring payout-delay complaints (checked July 9, 2026).
The fastest way to buy a single creator gig, and one of the weakest ways to build a repeatable creator pipeline. Fees and judgment both stack on the brand.
Good fit if you
- Need one video or post this week with a fixed budget
- Are comfortable judging creator quality from listings yourself
- Want to start at $0 and pay per transaction
Look elsewhere if you
- Run repeat campaigns and want the platform to learn your brand
- Need proof a creator sells products before paying
- Dislike per-order fees on both sides of the transaction

- Sampled Trustpilot reviews with one-star and five-star filters and screenshotted them, alongside Capterra and App Store ratings

| Creator vetting depth | 3.0 | Identity checks and profile stats; deeper audience reports metered at 20-50/month; fake-engagement spotting is on you. |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing transparency | 4.0 | Listing prices are clear; the 10% brand fee and 15% creator fee are documented but easy to overlook. |
| Workflow automation | 3.2 | Escrow and campaign applications work; discovery, vetting, and negotiation stay manual. |
| Trust signals in reviews | 3.5 | Capterra ~4.6, but recent Trustpilot reviews report payout delays and result disputes. |
What is Collabstr?

Collabstr is a self-serve influencer and UGC gig marketplace. Creators publish pre-priced content packages across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and UGC; brands browse listings, buy directly or send custom offers, and payment sits in escrow until the deliverable is approved. Paid plans add campaign briefs that creators apply to. The company's own 2026 report, drawn from 21,000+ collaborations, says 80% of engagements close under $300 and average UGC videos run $154 to $190.
Scale claims vary by page (850,000+ creators on the pricing page, 930,000+ on the homepage when we checked), but the mechanics are consistent: this is a transaction layer, not a judgment layer. Everything that decides whether a creator will actually perform for your brand, reading their track record, checking audience quality, negotiating, following up, remains manual work.
Collabstr pricing and fees, explained

Three tiers, checked July 9, 2026. Free: search and hire with a 10% hiring fee added to every order. Pro at $249/mo billed annually (about $299 monthly): 1 campaign per month, advanced filters, 20 audience reports. Premium at $333/mo annually: 5% hiring fee, unlimited campaigns, 50 reports, and an account manager. Creators pay a separate 15% fee on payouts, which experienced creators price into their rates.
The practical math: a brand on Free paying $200 per video effectively pays $220, and the creator nets $170. That 25-point spread between what you pay and what the creator keeps is the marketplace's real price, and it applies on every single order, forever.
| Plan | Price | Hiring fee | Key limits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 10% per order | No campaigns, no audience reports, no post tracking |
| Pro | $249/mo (annual) | 10% per order | 1 campaign/mo, 20 audience reports, 5 tracked posts |
| Premium | $333/mo (annual) | 5% per order | Unlimited campaigns, 50 reports, 15 tracked posts |
Collabstr features, walked through

Discovery and vetting. The core surface is search: filter listings by platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, UGC, Twitter, Twitch, Amazon, Snapchat), niche, price band, and badges like Rising Stars or Most Viewed. Every profile shows follower count, engagement rate, past-buyer ratings, and the creator's package menu. The deeper layer, audience reports with age, language, ethnicity splits, and fake-follower analysis, is where vetting gets real, and it is metered: none on Free, 20 per month on Pro, 50 on Premium. Run out mid-shortlist and you are back to judging by feel.
Buying and campaigns. Two paths in: buy a listed package outright, or send a custom offer through the profile. Paid plans unlock Campaigns, where you post a brief with deliverables and budget and creators apply with their own pricing; Collabstr says most campaigns get first applications within the hour, and pre-hire chat is tied to campaign applicants. All money moves through escrow, released when you approve the deliverable, with content rights transferring on approval.
Tracking and payouts. Live post tracking covers 5 posts at a time on Pro and 15 on Premium, each tracked for up to three weeks with daily refreshes of impressions and engagement. There is no attribution, revenue tracking, or e-commerce integration beyond that. Creator payouts run through Dots.dev, supporting PayPal, bank transfer, and gift cards across 150+ currencies, which explains the global supply but also the marketplace's arms-length relationship with payment disputes.
The free-tools halo. Collabstr's price calculator (built on 1.1M+ content packages), fake-follower checkers, engagement calculators, and contract templates are useful enough that they carry the company's SEO. Know that some tools gate results behind signup, a pattern one Trustpilot reviewer calls out, and that the calculator's averages come from Collabstr's own listing data, which skews to the sub-$300 gigs its marketplace specializes in.
Who Collabstr is actually for
The sweet spot is a founder or lean marketing team buying their first handful of UGC videos or influencer posts with a fixed budget and time to browse. Escrow removes the payment risk, listed prices remove negotiation, and the free tier means the only commitment is the 10% fee on orders you actually place. For that job, Collabstr is arguably the least intimidating entry point in the category.
The fit breaks at repetition. An operator running monthly creator batches inherits the same manual loop every cycle: browse, shortlist on surface stats, spend metered reports, message, manage. Nothing compounds; the platform learns nothing about your brand between campaigns. Agencies bump into the missing team seats and approval workflows, and performance marketers get no attribution to optimize against. Those are the users the alternatives section below is for.
What Collabstr does well
The entry experience is good. No subscription wall, listings with real prices, escrow that protects both sides, and a campaign flow that gets first applications within hours. The free-tools suite (price calculator, fake-follower checkers, engagement calculators) is among the best in the category and clearly drives its SEO. For a founder buying their first two or three UGC videos, this is a sensible on-ramp.
Where Collabstr falls short
The model outsources the hard part to you. Listings reward creators who market themselves well, not necessarily those whose videos convert, and the data that would tell you the difference is either metered (audience reports) or absent (no attribution, no revenue tracking, no e-commerce integrations). Third-party reviewers consistently note the skew toward low-priced, small-scope gigs and the filtering work required to avoid inactive profiles.
Trust signals have wobbled recently: June 2026 Trustpilot reviews report payout delays and week-plus support silences on the creator side, and brand-side disputes about creators who delivered no measurable results. Positive reviews about fast payment exist alongside them; the pattern reads like a marketplace operating at scale without much human recourse when transactions go sideways.
Collabstr pros
- Free to start; you only pay when you hire
- Pre-priced listings make budgeting a single gig trivial
- Escrow protects delivery; broad platform coverage including YouTube and Twitch
- Genuinely useful free tools (price calculator, fake-follower checkers)
Collabstr cons
- 10% hiring fee per order (5% on the $333/mo Premium), plus 15% creator-side fee
- Vetting is on you: audience reports are metered by plan
- Skews to sub-$300 gigs; weaker fit for repeat campaigns and niche categories
- Recent Trustpilot reviews report payout delays and slow support

Collabstr alternatives
If Collabstr's browse-and-judge model is the sticking point, the alternatives split by what replaces it: Octohog ranks TikTok creators by verified brand work and runs the outreach for you from $249/mo flat; Billo delivers finished videos from applicants; Insense adds ad-permission workflows; Modash gives you a raw database with analytics. We compared all five with screenshots and live pricing.

The better alternative: Octohog

If the pattern in this review bothers you, fees on every order and all the judgment left on your desk, Octohog is the alternative built to remove exactly that. Instead of browsing 930,000 listings, you write one brief. The engine, built on more than 1,000,000 analyzed UGC videos, finds the TikTok creators already doing verified brand work, scores each one against your brief, and shows the receipts: the actual videos, with performance. Then the agent runs the outreach: invites, follow-ups, booking. No hiring fee, no metered audience reports, no escrow spread.
You also keep more than a transaction. TikTok Deep-Dive x-rays any account before you commit, Video Blueprints turns winning UGC into shot-by-shot briefs, and Radar watches your competitors' creator moves daily after the campaign ships. Plans start at $249 per month with a 7-day free trial, about the price of Collabstr Pro, with the vetting and outreach done for you.
